david sjDavid - Assistant Manager / Instructor

David has a great deal of knowledge from diving all over South East Asia and has been with Scuba J. since 2003, he is a PADI and SSI Master Instructor and has been introducing people to 'his' world for over 10 years.

If you look up Yorkshire man in the dictionary you'll find David's picture. Like all true Yorkshire folk he was raised by feral cats in the Lake District. At 16 he moved to civilisation. Did I say civilisation? I meant Leeds. There he fell in with an ancient cult know as the Mods.

Maybe it was the Jamaican ska music or the Mods' passion for scooters that inspired David to move to the tropical island of Koh Tao? If he's not teaching or helping Natalie to organise us all, he's found in the equipment room fixing all our equipment as he is qualified to do this, on hand – handy man and singing along to Queen. Bring him some Lancashire crumbly cheese or a tin of Heinz baked beans and you'll have a friend for life. Bring him a couple of crunchie bars and a packet of mini eggs? You'll be family!

g sj G - SSI & PADI Head Instructor

G who’s actual name Gwydion is that of a Welsh god, spent most of his early years enjoying the delights of cream tea, scones and clotted cream from the lovely southern realms of Devon. Until 5 years ago changing the chance of seeing a Devonshire Hog to a Whale shark. Never the less he is truly a dedicated member of the team, and just like his name sake passes on his great knowledge to others without thought.

A very experienced instructor with a gentle, easy going nature, considered to be a true family man. The many that know G also admire his great but simple sense of humor that is hard to spot through his trained poker face, only his eyes giving away the giggles inside.

G the wise but lovely, what a guy.

rachel scuba junctionRachel, Head Instructor, SSI & PADI

What can I say, kind, caring, positive, happy, friendly, enthusiastic and always willing to help. A great listener and good with advice, Rachael "L" is one in a million, she is a great asset to the company and a pleasure to work with.

A wonderful and supportive part of the team, her patients, sensitive side will instantly win you over, she’ll take extra care of you and will always go that extra mile to make sure you feel totally safe and secure throughout the course, with many laughs along the way, she’s Northern but don’t let that ever put you off….

Niki, SSI Instructor, German niki scuba junction

Once you meet Niki you instantly warm to her quirky ways, the queen of pulling the most random faces and in every sentence, she’ll pull one. Our very own German SSI instructor, Niki continues to win people over with her relaxed teaching styles.

Niki loves her job and it shows in how she teaches, able to teach in English and German she will show you the ways of diving (with facial expressions) and get you through your courses with ease, grace and some giggles along the way, however, don’t be fooled too much by her girlish charms, that will all change when you hear her burps…

A total addict of jelly sweets and cookies, on arrival to your class don’t bring this teacher an apple, she’ll definitely pull a face to that…….sweets all the way!

Bobby Hamilton, SSI & PADI Instructor

Swapping New Zealand for Koh Tao a few years ago, Bobby has settled into island life. As a PADI and SSI instructor Bob can teach all courses in a relaxed and friendly manner. Don't listen too much when he is talking about sheep! Every Kiwi seems to have a fascination... Did I mention he never shuts up?.... "Silent Bob" bbbaaaaaaaa

Eugine, PADI Instructor, Italien

Eugene, Gino or sometimes known as Princess is our newest instructor, but not a new face here at scuba J. Last year he did his divemaster with us, left the island for a taste of Australia but missed turtle island too much and came back to work as a divemaster for 6 months. Never a dull moment when gino is around, his bubbly personality and ability to perform skills in a way you wont forget garantee a fun time whilst doing a course with us.

Fernando, Dive Master

Our dynamic Brazilian DM is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. The only time you won’t hear him singing is under the water.

He is extremely caring and compassionate and it translates into his diving. A wonderful chef too, his Brazilian charm is sure to win you over!

Keli, Dive Instructor, Canadian

Who said that in diving the only wonder in the sea is the sea life? You will definitely have a second thought once you meet Keli.

This Canadian instructor is well known for her super friendly personality and smile that will stun you dead if you're not careful.

But don't be fooled, with a degree in Mechanical engineering, under that bouncy soft wavy hair is hidden a concentrated mix of endless knowledge and undisputable professialism.

Keli has been teaching on the island for over 2 years now. Once out of the water the fun is not over. Keli can often be found hanging upside down at the flying trapeze, and with her joyfulness and charisma can give you tips on the best nightlife on Koh Tao.
